It was a nice but super hot day this past Sunday in Costa Mesa. I met up with Mitch and Amy at The Camp followed by The Lab for their engagement pictures. Even though Earth Day was being celebrated and it was packed with people, we were able to find some great little areas for pictures and Amy and Mitch were such a blast to take pictures of.

Lara & Brent - Salt Creek Grille

Lara and Brent were married at Crest Street Beach and we had the greatest time ever. Lara got ready at her friends house and there was such an abundance of natural light in the home I was able to get some awesome getting ready shots. Here dress down to her shoes were just beautiful. After the ceremony, we got some spontaneous shots on the beach, even captured them going straight into the water!

Erica & Aaron - The Westin in Long Beach

The afternoon started off with Erica welcoming me into her parents' house. She looked beautiful! Her make-up and veil were on and she was just so excited her wedding day had finally arrived. I could not wait to see what was in store for today as Erica and Aaron had booked me nearly 2 years earlier. We had planned to take pictures at the Pike in Long Beach but things were changed the day before when we had learned the area was closed for the Grand Prix in April. We moved on to plan b and headed over to the Orange Circle instead, believe me, this was a great second choice! On the way leaving the circle, Erica and Aaron were game to take a few train track pictures. As we were getting the last shots, Orange PD arrived and threatened to ticket us if we didn't leave. Luckily, I was able to get the shot at the bottom of this post!

Erica and Aaron you guys are awesome. Hope you had a blast in Hawaii!

So I've been m.i.a. with blogging but I am still taking pictures and have a whole bunch to share with you soon. This past winter I've been traveling to some nearby states including Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. As for some other great news I have a new website in development and will have a new look in a couple of weeks.

Alma and Joe were married early this October and I couldn't wait for their wedding. They had booked me nearly 1.5 years ago so I'd been long awaiting their day. We anticipated rain that day and it started raining on the drive up and continued for a couple hours. We arrived at the Lindley Scott House and it immediatly stopped raining. The outdoor wedding was amazing and the day turned out great.

Janine and Mac - Black Gold Golf Club

On Saturday I went to La Venta Inn in Rancho Palos Verdes for Monica and Minh's wedding. I love that they decide to see one another prior to the ceremony because I was able to set-up and capture their first glance shots. Last Friday, I photographed Jennifer and Wade's wedding at the Mission Inn. It was such a beautiful everything. They planned their wedding without leaving any detail out. They focused on entertaining their guests from beginning to end. They had belly dancers perform, a live band, a DJ, and a photobooth just to name a few. They chose the campus because Monica had graduated there with her law degree and Minh is currently attending for his doctorate. Karen and Andy were married this past weekend at the Jones Victorian Estate in Orange. She chose yellow, orange, green and white as her colors which went so well for a summer wedding. The flowers were done by one of my favorite florists Flower Allie.

The b/w picture with Karen and Andy in color was such a cool shot. During their reception family members wanted to get a picture of everyone together. While aunts, cousins, and parents were calling for others to join in, it seemed as though Karen and Andy were the only two people in the world. Congrats to you both and have a great time in Italy!

Megan and Now - Adventures at Sea

Megan and Now were married at Heritage Park in Dana Point followed by their reception in Newport on the yacht. Their ceremony was performed by Now's brother- it was so heart felt, it brought tears to so many of their guests. They had a huge bridal party and they totally were into taking some crazy shots. At one point Now, was on the top of the pyramid (i'll post that soon). Megan looked gorgeous, and she was such a natural at taking pics. She chose such beautiful flowers for herself and her bridesmaids, I loved how bright and vibrant in color they were. I was lucky to work with Jennifer and her assistant Brianna at OC's Finest. They did a great job and are always so fun to work with.

This past Saturday, Samantha and Alvin were married at the Hyatt in Huntington Beach. The entire day flowed smoothly and we were able to take some great pictures on the grounds of the hotel as well as a few on the beach. Flower Allie did amazing work as always with the bouquets, boutonnieres, and the centerpieces.

Alvin and Samantha decided to see each other prior to the ceremony which is fun because the first glance set-up shots are always breathtaking moments to capture.

This was my first time photographing a wedding on a Monday. Colleen and Eric were married in LA at the Biltmore Hotel. The architecture and details at the Biltmore are amazing. Different shades of purple was the color they chose to use for wedding decor. Purple being my favorite color, I was in awe at how beautiful everything looked. Since the Chinese New Year was around the same time as the wedding, Colleen and Eric decided to surprise their guests by hiring dancing dragons to perform during their reception, everyone was so into it!

Amy and George were married this past Saturday at the Imperial Ballroom in Fullerton. They left no detail unturned from the lighting and the centerpieces down to the casino cocktail hour and the candy bar. This wedding was definitly aimed at making sure every guest had fun.

I met up with Amy and George for their engagement pictures at the Queen Mary back in May and I was so stoked to see that they had made a lit up movie poster with the pictures I had taken. I can't believe how creative these two are.

For the second week in a row I was able to work with event coordinator Betty and her husband Jose from Talk of the Town. They rock!

On the 13th, Vanessa and Eric were married at El Adobe in San Juan Capistrano. Vanessa looked beatiful in her customized dress that she kept hidden from everyone including her mom. Eric looked great as well, look close enough and you can see his checkered Vans.

Road Trip...

I started this blog long ago with intentions of just showing the work I've done throughout the month. As I started becoming friends with all my clients, they were wondering why I don't blog or post pictures about me and what I do when I am not photographing a wedding, engagement or boudoir session.

Honestly, I am not the type to have pictures of myself. I'd rather be behind the camera rather than in front of it. Today, during a little road trip outside of what is now considered "The O.C.," B and I found some beautiful areas to take pictures at. After, having a brief scare of possible poison ivy, a word of advice to all...stay on the trail!

On Saturday morning it was pouring rain. The sky was super gray and the sun was nowhere in sight. I was extremely concerned as I'm sure Cindy and Edward were- given that they were having an outdoor ceremony. Luckily, toward mid-afternoon the sun started peaking through the clouds and the outdoor wedding was set as scheduled. I must say, the blue sky and all of the clouds made for some beautiful pictures.

From the cake to the candy buffet there was no detail left unturned. Even the garter and ring bearer pillow Cindy's mom had made matched the pink and brown wedding.

On Saturday, 9.8.7 I had the joy of photographing Christine and Poppin's wedding. We started the day early with the Vietnamese Tea Ceremony, followed by a church ceremony in Garden Grove. Soon after, we headed down to Industry Hills for the reception.

Christine, Poppin, and their huge wedding party were so much fun (I say huge because they had eight bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen). This was the first wedding where we had the chance to see a bride be thrown into the air! Christine had no doubt the guys would catch her...that look on her face is so priceless.

The reception was amazing. About 400 guests attended. Everyone could not believe the beautiful cake Christine and Poppin had chosen was real. The cake, intricately designed with flowers, was a 4 layer tower that nearly touched the ceiling.

Grace and Mark

What can I say about Grace and Mark? They are the sweetest people! They were married last Friday on the 24th at the Summit House in Fullerton and they had such a beautiful wedding. This is the second week in a row that I got to work with Allison from Flower Allie and as said before, her work is amazingly beautiful.

During the ceremony, Mark surprised Grace when he stepped aside during their vows to serenade her by playing the saxophone. It was so romantic. He had Grace, and many of their guests in tears.

Everyone loved taking pictures in the photobooth that Mark and Grace provided for their guests. Brandon and I had the chance to take a picture in their as well which was our first at a wedding.

Back in mid-August I met up with Autum and a couple of her friends to shoot individual boudoir sessions at a hotel in Anaheim. The room wasn't your ordinary room. This past Sunday I met up with Juan and Betty in Laguna. We've been keeping in touch since last November and they'll be getting married the end of this month. Like Cinderella arriving to the Ball, Betty was telling me that she we'll be arriving to her ceremony in a horse drawn carriage. That should make for some great pictures.

It was so cool to be outdoors as there was thunder and lightning throughout Betty and Juan's session. Toward the end it did start to rain but luckily we were able to get a ton of shots beforehand.

Tiffany and Kevin were married on the 18th at the Newport Beach Country Club. When I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted by her dog who kept her company while she was getting ready (he is the most cutest loving dog). Tiffany and Kevin decided to have the entire bridal party wear Rainbow brand slippers. The bridesmaids were grateful that they had comfy shoes to wear throughout the day. Tiffany added a nice little touch to hers by decking them out in blue and clear rhinestones. I must also mention that they had the most yummiest cupcakes ever! I'm so asking for those cupcakes for my next birthday!! Congrats you guys and enjoy your new home in Arizona.

Not too long ago I had the pleasure of capturing Christine and Mike's wedding at the Navy Golf Course in Cypress. Their wedding was beautiful! Orange, black, and white were the colors chosen to tie everything together.

I had the pleasure of meeting several of Christine's family who flew all the way from Germany to celebrate this special occasion. Through out the wedding, I heard so many of their family and friends comment on how beautiful and handsome Christine and Mike looked.

Allison from Flower Allie did an awesome job as usual with the bouquets, the gazebo ceremony decor, and the flower decorations on the cake. Her work was as amazing as the day she did my own wedding last April.

I also worked with coordinator Amanda Auer, of In the Now Weddings & Events. She did a great job making sure every little detail had been covered and ensuring the day flowed smoothly. At the end of the night she was able to orchestrate all of the guests to the front entrance where Christine and Mike ran through their sparkler send-off.

Brandon and I had so much fun with Aryn and James in Balboa last week. We got so many great beach pictures along with some at the fun zone. We found a little area where there were some pillows so Aryn and James decided to have a little pillow fight, actually a big pillow fight. There was no contest, Aryn totally won...sorry James.

Kam & Damaine

This past Thursday Kam and Damaine were married at the Summit House. Many of their family and friends came from all over the country to see the two get married. Family members added a special touch to the ceremony as Damaine's uncle was officiating and his cousin sang, as well as, Kam's brother did a reading and her uncled played the guitar.

I had a fabulous boudoir session with Karina last Thursday. Over the time leading to the session, Karina had told me what she had envisioned for her boudoir pictures and I thought it was the coolest idea ever. We ended up meeting at a barn and using it as the backdrop. Her shots turned out great. Her attire and location definitely added a little flare to the typical boudoir session.

Last week I met up with Lauren and Andy at the Orange Circle. Lauren kept telling me that the camera was her worst enemy-I think she looks like a natural. What was really fun was they brought a few props for their pictures. The magazine shot turned out great- it reall shows what their recent interests are ;)

Clara & Todd

Not too long ago I had the pleasure of photographing Clara and Todd's wedding at La Palapa in Long Beach. Their beach front ceremony was officiated by Greg of You May Kiss the Bride. He is the same officiant that my husband and I used for our wedding, so it was a great being able to work with him. Clara looked gorgeous;

Clara and Todd hired the coolest magician. I watched him do these card tricks and I was absolutely amazed. I also worked with Jennifer Johnson from OC's Finest. She worked so hard to make every detail beautiful and memorable.

On July 22nd Rachel and Eddie had their wedding in Laguna Beach at the Pacific Edge House. It had rained a little prior to the ceremony, if you're superstitious like I am - I'm sure it'll bring extra luck throughout their life together. Along with having a beautiful wedding, the ceremony was extra special as Eddie's dad was officiating.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from Billy and Ashley's wedding that Brandon and I did 2 weeks ago. What was really cool was that Billy and Ashley decided to see eachother before the ceremony. There was so much emotion between the two as they turned to see one another for the first time, I started getting teary eyed. Over the weekend I headed over to the Orange Circle to meet up with Chrissy and Poppin. Earlier that day, we were discussing locations and they were considering San Juan Capistrano, OCPAC, or the Orange Circle. It's always great when you can tell how much in love two people are just by looking at a picture. I met up with Cindy and Edward this past Sunday; I can't even begin to explain how well they meshed together. A movement or just a look they gave to one another and I was snapping away. For an added personel touch, Cindy brought a bouquet of beautiful pink peonies (my favorite) to spice up the pictures. I can't wait to see what they have in store for their September wedding.

On Sunday, we met up with Clara and Todd in Orange. They were looking good and ready to take some pictures. This afternoon Brandon and I met up with Mimi and David at 1000 Steps in Laguna to take their engagement pictures. If you haven't been there before - there really isn't 1000 steps (I remember reading around 270), but it feels like it on the climb back up. Today was a great day for beach pictures. On January 6, Brandon and I photographed the wedding of Claudia and Ryan. Their beautiful ceremony was at the San Francisco Solano Church in Rancho Santa Margarita, followed by a reception at Tustin Raquet Club. The reception was very entertaining as they hired Irish Dancers to perform, as well as finishing the night with the Snake Dance; where at the end, all of the guys picked up Ryan and through him up in the air as he tried to touch the ceiling - which he did without falling.

On Saturday, Brandon and I had the joy of photographing Victoria and Kevin's wedding. After 10 years of togetherness, they finally decided to get married. So, we met up with the bride and groom at Mason Park in Irvine. The park was huge so we had several areas to take pictures.

After the park we headed down to the University Club where the ceremony and reception was located. During the ceremony it started pouring down rain-it sounded so cool bouncing off of the roof-luckily it was an indoor ceremony.

During the reception Victoria and Kevin wanted to take pictures in the rain (gotta love the spontaneity), but it was extremely cold and we were umbrellaless. Here are some quick pics. By-the-way I want her shoes. (click on the pics for the full view).

Today's ceremony and reception took place at the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. Wow, what a beautiful location.
